Full time (37 hours per week) (all year round) 

The GORSE Academies Trust seek to employ a talented and aspiring developer to support our highly ambitious projects, one of which could be of national significance in the education sector. The successful candidate will work closely with the Partnership Director of IT and the executive office (including the CEO) on these major projects and will drive the development of these solutions. Your skills will also be required to support the work of our website development team as we seek to take our websites and web services to the next level.

You must be passionate about technology, committed to creating highly functional and intuitive solutions, and capable of communicating clearly and listening carefully. Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP and MySQL are a must. We are keen to hear from existing junior developers, graduates, and self-taught developers looking for a formal opportunity. 

The Trust is a vibrant and forward-thinking teaching community which places all students, and in particular those who come from the most challenging backgrounds, at the centre of its work. You will be exposed to colleagues from all our partner schools but will work primarily with the central team, its directors, and the executive office.

GORSE has a well-known reputation for changing the deal for children and young adults who come from some of the most impoverished parts of the country. Our central mission is to ensure that we play a significant role in removing the stubborn link between poverty and academic underperformance. GORSE, of which GORSE SCITT is a central part, was awarded Teaching School Hub status in 2021. This saw the opening of Leeds Teaching School Hub in September of that year. We were delighted to learn in February 2024 that we have been designated to function as Leeds Teaching School Hub for a further 4 years. That renewed status now means that, as a trust, we have a great responsibility placed upon us to ensure that professionals at every stage in their career have the opportunity to enjoy expert support and training.
