Virus Scanner

From 7 March 2024, we will be implementing a new virus scanner on the resources uploader. You do not need to do anything different when uploading your resources; however, you will notice a visible change to the uploader section.

When you upload a file, you will notice the page read ‘Scanning your file’

Once the scan has been completed, and providing that there are no viruses identified in your upload, the resource will proceed to uploading.

You will notice that there is a green progress line to show how the upload process is progressing.

Once this has completed, you will be able to proceed with your upload as you currently do.

File Size Limit

Along with the uploader, we will be implementing a change to the file size limit.

Currently, you can upload multiple files to a resource with a maximum size of 1GB per file. Due to advancements in technology and an audit of our marketplace, we have made the decision to reduce this to 200MB per file. The vast majority of uploads to the platform are below 200MB and most authors will be unaffected by this change.

This will allow for a smoother download process for buyers as large files can be timely to download and take up more space.

This will have no impact on resources that are already uploaded to the site; however, if you choose to edit these resources and replace the files, replacements will need to fall in line with our new limits. Over the coming weeks, we will issue guidance on compressing larger file sizes.

We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation; should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us at authors@tes.com.
