Below you can find answers to some frequently asked questions about getting resources highlighted on Tes. Please be aware that this is not a definitive list and is meant as general guidance only.

What is hand-picked content?

The hand-picked pages on Tes are a selection of resources that have been carefully selected to highlight good quality content for our users. They come in different formats including blogs and hubs which are based around a certain topic, theme or event. Examples of some of the pages we have can be found below:

What do Tes look out for when deciding which resources to highlight?

It’s worth noting that the list below is not a definitive list, but here are some helpful pointers to get you thinking more about your resource creation:

  • Good resource descriptions (guidance on descriptions can be found in section one of our uploader walkthrough here and more advanced guidance here

  • Titles and descriptions that match the content included in the resource

  • Relevant and up to date content

  • Resources that have preview images, especially those that are clear

  • Good value for money – not overpriced (guidance on pricing your resources can be found here

  • Resources that cover key topics for upcoming events and popular themes

  • Well-designed content with good formatting

  • Content that is free of errors -look out for corrupt files, broken video links, spelling and grammar errors

  • Resources that include a range of ideas and original ways of teaching

Why should I try and get my resources featured?

Teachers trust and use Tes as their first step for quality resources, meaning that there are many benefits to getting your resources featured in one of our hand-picked spaces. We regularly promote our pages and blogs to a wider audience – on-site, in our fortnightly newsletters and across our social media channels. This results in:

  • More exposure for your resources, your teaching style and your shop

  • More opportunities to be viewed as a trusted author, which could encourage return customers

  • Help with building your brand

How will I know if my resource has been featured?

While we have been regularly highlighting resources for many years, we have not previously informed you when your resource has been featured. Starting in 2023, you will receive an email in the week following the blog or hub being published. The email will include a link to the page where your resource is being featured.

What else do I need to know about hand-picked content?

  • Please be aware that highlighted resources are regularly updated. If your resource is featured, it may not remain featured permanently

  • If your resources are not featured, please don’t be disheartened! This does not mean that they are not good enough and they may be featured at another time

  • You must not make your content look branded or verified by Tes - do not use Tes branding in your resources or on your resource display pages

  • Once you have shared your resource live to the website, do not completely swap or change the resource files that have been uploaded, or drastically increase the price under which it is sold, as this could change the perceived value for money of your resource

  • Please make sure that you are following our Copyright guidelines. More information can be found here.

We hope that the information above helps to offer some support for your resource sharing, however if you have any further questions, please email us on authors@tes.com. Please do not contact us with your resources as recommendations to be featured – we do not take requests for this.
