Last chance to enter this year's Tes Awards for International Schools

Schools from across the globe are entering the Tes Awards for International Schools, an awards programme celebrating the best of education.

23 October, 2023

Tes urged international schools to get their applications in before the 3rd of November deadline for the inaugural ‘Tes Awards for International Schools' and celebrate the best of education for their region.

The Tes awards, organised by a global leader in providing education solutions for schools and teachers, are an opportunity for schools and educators to reflect on the difference they can make to students’ futures around the globe. Tes also hosts the UK Tes Awards, which celebrates the UK education community, that has been dubbed ‘the Oscars of education’.

This is an opportunity for teachers and schools to celebrate their outstanding achievements during the 2022/23 academic year. Schools and teachers that win can look forward to sharing their victory and earn recognition for their accomplishments from the international education community.

“The Tes School Awards in the UK give schools the opportunity to recognise their extraordinary achievements for students and the inspirational work of their staff, and we want to do the same for our international colleagues across the world with the Tes Awards for International Schools 2024.

“The awards will give those in the international schools sector the opportunity to showcase their innovative teaching and celebrate their successes,” said Dan Worth, Tes International Editor.

Entry is free and open to all international schools outside of the UK that teach the British Curriculum or International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, or both. There are 5,700 schools delivering International Baccalaureate programmes in 159 countries.

The awards are supported by leading international school associations, including BSME (British Schools in the Middle East), COBIS (Council of British International Schools), ECIS (The Education Collaborative for International Schools), FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia), and the IB (International Baccalaureate), a global leader in international education, making it a must-enter event for schools all around the world. Tes is delighted to be facilitating this multi-national collaboration to celebrate the important work of international schools.

The first stage of shortlisting will be announced during February 2024, and overall winners will be announced in April 2024.

“We continue to partner with Tes, many of our global community have taken the IPGCE offered by Tes. Last year, I was truly moved during the Tes award ceremony hearing of the amazing work of teachers in classrooms across the globe working to improve the future of our world. This work must start in classrooms,” said Kam Chohan, Executive Director for ECIS.

Kam Chohan also quoted Aaron Bacall, “Your heart is slightly larger than the average human heart, but that's because you're a teacher."

"We are very excited to be supporting partners of the Tes Awards for International Schools. These awards will give the international school community a chance to celebrate their success, to really shout about the exceptionally talented people and institutions who work ceaselessly to deliver for our schools, our teachers, and our students. I encourage international schools in Asia and beyond to enter,” said John Gwyn Jones MBE, CEO for FOBISIA.

“The Tes Awards for International Schools recognizes educators and staff who make a difference in the lives of students every day, celebrating their successes and sharing best practices for the advancement of learning. The IB is honoured to support the Tes Awards for International Schools as a member of the international school community.” said Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of International Baccalaureate.
