The awards programme builds on the success of the UK’s prestigious and long running Tes Schools Awards, dubbed ‘the Oscars of education’.
These 13 winners were selected by an independent panel of expert judges from 96 shortlisted schools located across the globe. Regionally, 6 awards were won by schools in the Middle East, 5 in Asia, 1 in Africa, and 1 in Europe.
Dan Worth, International Editor for Tes Magazine said, “Discovering the amazing things the winning schools and individuals have been doing all around the world has been very exciting as they demonstrate bold new ideas and innovations in a raft of key areas of education.
“The Tes Awards for International Schools has set the bar high in its first year in terms of both the breadth of the quality of entries received and the eventual winners and we look forward to seeing how this continues to evolve in the future.”
The Tes Awards for International Schools will be held again in 2025, with nominations opening later this year.
Debra Forsyth, CEO of BSME said, “BSME is very proud of the continuous development work in Middle East schools that ensures they are at the cutting edge of education globally and offer an education that ranks amongst the best in the world. The award-winning schools have demonstrated high levels of collaboration, inclusion, and innovation that we think exemplify the best of education in the region.”
Colin Bell, CEO of COBIS said, “The selection of finalists in the Tes Awards for International Schools has been fantastic. Seeing the commitment and innovation offered by these schools has been inspirational, encouraging and really characterises what international schools can and do offer.”
Kam Chohan, Executive Director of ECIS said, “The work of these winners has been inspiring and we’re proud to see the excellence these schools have been able to deliver to their students. These winners demonstrate the passion international schools and teachers have in taking the education they offer to new heights, and how they give their students greater opportunities to succeed.”
John Gwyn Jones MBE, CEO of FOBISIA said, “British international schools in the FOBISIA community have really demonstrated their dedication to the remarkably high-quality education that’s on offer in Asia. We’re so thrilled to see schools in our region succeed in these awards and showcase how dynamic and innovative our member schools are.”
