Ofsted report
Aspirational leadership embeds a culture of strong pastoral care and high academic standards. Davison is a harmonious school where everyone pulls together to do their best. Morale among pupils and teachers is high at your inclusive school. Pupils we spoke to described the school as like a ‘big family’. Your staff share your vision and work very hard to maintain the school’s many strengths and to improve it further. There is a caring and stimulating ethos, which enables pupils to typically make strong progress and achieve well.

I had my first PGCE placement, in Religious Studies, at Davison. Throughout my placement I felt well supported and encouraged both by the excellent professional tutor, my mentor and members of staff throughout the school. Davison gives you an excellent introduction into teaching, allowing you to learn from experienced practitioners and to really find your feet and build relationships before starting to teach. I was lucky enough to secure a position at Davison and so came here to complete my NQT year and have never looked back. As with the PGCE, Davison's NQT procedures are well thought out, supportive and helpful. Weekly meetings that cover all aspects of school life, delivered by experts in their field allows progression and encourages a real feeling of belonging. Help is also on offer in the form of excellent mentors who are available to help if ever there is a need. Since completing my NQT, I have continued to work at Davison in the Religious Studies department as well as branching out to teach GCSE Media Studies too. I feel that Davison offers a great opportunity to excel in your specialist subject as well as encouraging staff to grow and take on new challenges.
- Davison CE High School Teacher - NQT in 2015/16I have found working at Davison to be a fantastic experience and feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to start my teaching career at such an excellent school. The support from the school has been exceptional and I have been able to further my practice as a teacher with clear guidance from the mentoring team who have provided a clear structure of support, with the NQT programme, allowing me to teach with confidence and really enjoy my time as a teacher
