About Meadowbank Primary School

About Meadowbank Primary School

Meadowbank Primary School is a very special place. I love each day and have since I joined as Headteacher in 2005. The children and adults that I am lucky enough to spend my days with are a constant inspiration and it is a privilege to learn alongside them.

Each day is different, and I never tire of watching our pupils grow in confidence and support of each other. There is a great energy across school which comes from children and adults alike, based upon a shared view that learning together is an adventure, an ethos that is fostered by adults across school who are dedicated to nurturing every young person in their care, and understands that the best way to learn is through creativity and enjoyment, enabling our vision of everyone to Flourish and Inspire to become a reality.

Our children understand that Meadowbank is their school to lead, and our role as adults is to help them build their school into the future. They have decided that it is their mission that everyone in our school family will be Lifelong Learners, Leaders of Change and to have a Lasting Legacy. Through the curriculum that they design collaboratively and the sharing of each individuals gifts, talents and interests our children enable their mission to live through every aspect of school life, which includes classroom based and outdoor learning and many extra-curricular opportunities. This leadership leads to a love of learning extending beyond Meadowbank and to growing passions, achievements and successes.

We value highly our partnerships with parents and carers and understand the shared role that we have in supporting children to achieve, truly flourish and be an inspiration to others. Our parents can see that each child is recognised as an individual and their journey with us is bespoke to individual uniqueness. As a parent myself I understand the importance for home and school to have a shared view of a child's learning experience, and we welcome parental insight in how we can continue to grow and develop our school.

We are a proud member of the Education Learning Trust, a small group of academies who have joined together through shared commitments to children leading learning, and adult professional development via research based collaborations and reflective practice. A philosophy which extends to children's learning also.
If the vision of all learners being enabled to Flourish and Inspire and our philosophies of learning match the learning approach that they would like for your child, please come and see us. I look forward to showing you our school and saying 'Welcome to Meadowbank'...
