Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School or 'The Boteler Family' as it is widely known, is an oversubscribed 11-16 Faith School with 900 learners. The School is a founder Academy within The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT). TCAT comprises of 14 institutions; 6 Primary Academies, 7 Secondary Academies and 1 Sixth Form College. TCAT continues to go from strength to strength and there are a vast range of opportunities for staff from the separate academies to get involved in CPD and or leadership opportunities and development. The School serves the Diocese of Chester and Liverpool and is Nationally recognised for putting its Christian Values into action.

The young people are the 'heartbeat' of the school and through High Expectations, High Aspirations and High Standards they feel motivated and encouraged to succeed at the highest level. The ethos, vision and values underpin every aspect of school life and it stays true to its mission of ‘Through God, We Care'.  The whole school community is relentless in the pursuit of excellence and are committed to raising standards so that we provide each student with the opportunity to attain their full potential and provide them with an essential toolkit of skills and qualifications to achieve their goals, fulfil their aspirations and succeed on their chosen pathway.

Staff development is very important at Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School and we like to pride ourselves on all development packages (at all levels)  to ensure that we have the highest calibre of professionals within our school team. ECTs have bespoke training programmes which has been deemed as 'best practice' and staff mobility is usually because of promotion.  It is a sign of our success that our staff are going on to secure Middle and Senior positions and we celebrate staff success wherever possible.
