The Boswells School

The Boswells School is an extremely popular, academically successful, over subscribed 11-18 school in the Springfield area of Chelmsford, that has an excellent reputation within our community.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that all of our students receive an outstanding education that inspires them to thrive and achieve excellence. We provide an environment that is inclusive and diverse to help students develop their character as well as acquire the knowledge and skills to flourish as global citizens.

Our last Ofsted inspection in February 2023 commented, “In lessons, pupils concentrate and work hard. They behave well and want to learn. Pupils have respect for their teachers and know how well they are taught. They appreciate the support they receive for their well-being. High expectations are set for pupils. They thrive on meeting these in the way they behave and their commitment to their learning".

The school has a staff wellbeing committee who meet half termly to ensure the views of the whole staff body are shared.  The school is also signed up for the 'Education Staff Wellbeing Charter'

Continuous Professional Development

We are passionate about the development of our staff and have a robust schedule of professional development opportunities. We aim to cater for the needs of all staff members, from our Early Career Teachers to those that are preparing for leadership. Our CPD activities are delivered in a range of formats with both compulsory and optional elements to suit the needs of the staff member.

We are flexible with the delivery of professional development to cater for part time staff so that every member of staff has the opportunity to attend all CPD sessions that they wish to.
