Upper Batley High School is a school dedicated to delivering academic success, coupled with first class care, guidance and support. Our bespoke, engaging and enriching curriculum ensures our young people achieve at a high level, and our outstanding Career Pathways education inspires our learners to reach their potential and achieve their career goals. We are ambitious for what our learners can achieve, and our curriculum enrichment provides a wide range of experiences outside of the classroom. From the Barnyard to Forest School, from cricket to croquet, from the music recording studio to rocket club there is something for everyone, and plenty of new activities to try. Our school lies at the heart of our community and we firmly believe community makes us.

Our GCSE results are improving rapidly and we were graded as a ‘Good’ school in all areas by Ofsted in 2019, with outstanding provision for careers. Ofsted said our learners are making rapid progress and ‘the school is a harmonious community in which to learn’. We were identified as a Beacon School due to the excellent progress we make with our learners (Northern Powerhouse Report 2016) and we have achieved several awards such as Eco Schools, Gold Award for Mental Health & Wellbeing and our community work is currently featured in an exhibition in the People's History Museum, Manchester.

Our 11-16 school is multi-cultural and located close to the town centre, within easy access of the motorway network. Our work is focused on developing the unique potential of every individual whilst working towards becoming an outstanding educational organisation. We are a vibrant, rich and exciting learning community with unique and inspiring opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

We are part of the Batley Multi Academy Trust, whose sole purpose is to provide an outstanding education through our family of schools. Batley Multi Academy Trust currently comprises Batley Girls’ High School, Upper Batley High School, Healey Junior Infant & Nursery School, Field Lane Junior Infant & Nursery School and Batley Grammar School.
