Join our esteemed ISR Group in Germany as an Academic Head overseeing two grade levels in our Secondary School, with a start date no later than August 1, 2025, or begin with a one-year training program at ISR to prepare for the role.
We are looking for an exceptional and highly experienced educational leader to oversee the academic operations and growth of two specific grade levels. Reporting directly to the Head of Secondary School, this role presents a unique opportunity to influence the educational journey of our students and contribute to the growth of the school and the excellent academic record.
Professional Responsibilities
Strategic Direction and Continuous Development of Academic Programs:
- Promote the mission and vision of ISR, with clear focus and purpose.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs for the assigned grades.
- Provide support and guidance.
- to staff to ensure the successful implementation of the curriculum.
- to school leadership for the school improvement plan.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practices.
Student and Parent Engagement:
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Actively engage with and coach students, encouraging their participation and fostering a love for learning and critical thinking.
- Lead and oversee students' academic achievement and success.
- Being the direct, first point of contact for parents, it is required to build a strong partnership, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- Promote student well-being, personal development, and academic advancement.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Head of Secondary School to align goals and strategies.
- Support teachers in meeting educational objectives and professional development needs.
- Contribute to the broader school leadership team, collaborating on school-wide initiatives.
- Mentor and guide staff to achieve high performance and professional growth.
Operational and Compliance Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day academic operations for the assigned grade levels.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, educational authorities, and accreditation standards.
Experience and Qualifications
- A BSc/MSc in Education or Educational Leadership.
- Relevant experience of progressive leadership within an international school environment.
- A proven track record of driving academic excellence and innovation.
- Strong collaboration and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and lead effectively.
- Exceptional ability to engage with students and parents, fostering positive relationships and effective communication.
- Extensive international experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of diverse cultures and educational systems.
- Fluency in English (knowledge of German education regulations and accreditation standards is advantageous).
