Job overview

The Academic Tutor and UCAS/Oxbridge Coach will offer comprehensive support to students throughout their academic journey. For Oxbridge applications, they will help Year 13 students with personal statement reviews, entrance assessments, and interview preparation. They will also guide Year 12 students through the admissions process, assisting them in drafting their personal statements. Additionally, the role includes planning and delivering the Oxbridge Access Programme for Year 11 and 12 students, overseeing independent research projects, organising visits to Oxford and Cambridge, and hosting a Parents’ Evening. The coach will also manage a Year 10 Oxbridge reading club.

As an Academic Tutor, they will provide 1-1 and small group tutoring to KS5 students and offer mentoring sessions focused on improving revision techniques. They will support Year 13 students with their UCAS applications, ensuring personal statements are submitted on time. The coach will also supervise the Reading Room to help students stay focused during independent study.

Beyond these duties, the Academic Tutor and UCAS/Oxbridge Coach will play a vital role in building students' confidence in their academic abilities. They will work closely with other staff members to track student progress, identify areas for improvement, and offer tailored support to ensure each student achieves their full potential, both in their Oxbridge applications and academic studies.
