This is an exciting time to joining our Inclusion team at Longhill High School, as Brighton and Hove move towards a new vision for Alternative Provision. Our school improvement journey is well under way and we are pleased with the progress that we are making. Key to this improvement is the role of our Inclusion colleagues, as they support our most vulnerable young people.

We are looking to appoint a suitable candidate to take on the leadership of the schools Inclusion Team for a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will have experience of working in schools with pupils that need support to engage in learning and have proven leadership abilities.
The Alternative Provision Manager will work closely with a Deputy Head and the school’s SENDCo to deliver bespoke interventions and alternative provisions for those pupils who may need extra support. They will manage a team of Learning Mentors to deliver in-house interventions whilst working with outside providers to deliver off site interventions to support.
The alternative provision manager will work at a whole school level in order to advise on intervention and behaviour strategy and to empower others with their knowledge. They will also operate as the school’s Deputy Child Protection lead alongside the school’s Designated Child Protection Officer and others.
