We are an education charity and creative school, working with London’s most vulnerable young people. These are students who have fallen through the cracks in the education system and with an innovative approach of holistic education, designed to develop students academically, socially, physically and emotionally, we help them to overcome their personal barriers and thrive in our nurturing community.  Through a combination of bespoke group and 1:1 lessons, enriched with fun, creative projects and comprehensive wellbeing support, we provide students with a rounded and fulfilling educational experience.

As our new Animal Care Teacher you will work with KS3 to KS5 students of all abilities and needs, helping them to gain real-world experience in caring for animals, alongside a BTEC qualification. Lessons are taught both in small groups and on a one to one basis. You will be teaching in our Hubs, specially designed learning spaces, with a range of modern facilities, alongside a team of passionate teaching staff, benefitting from our friendly and supportive culture. This role is perfect for someone with creative flair and the ability to bring lessons alive in original and exciting ways.

Essential

  • A-level (or equivalent) or above in a related subject (QTS is not essential). 
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting. 
  • Animal Care Industry experience
  • The ability to teach confidently and creatively up to KS4 level.


Desirable

  • Experience of working in a creative education environment
  • Experience of working in a charity


Pay:

From £27,669.29 pro rata per annum (2 days per week)


Hours: 

Monday - Wednesday  - 8.30am - 4.30pm

Thursday - 8.30am - 6.00pm (we do training every Thursday afternoon)

Friday - 8.30am - 4.00pm


Training:

One off induction day - 10.00am - 4.00pm

Five Tuesday afternoon induction training sessions-  4.30 - 6.00pm 

Ongoing professional development on Thursday afternoons - 4.30 - 6.00pm 

You will be teaching and training simultaneously. 


Location: Waterloo Hub and Aldgate East Hub
