Hurst Lodge School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Technician to join our small, inspiring team at our Senior campus in Yateley. The ideal candidate will support the Art Department, ensuring the smooth running of art classes, maintaining materials and equipment, and assisting both teachers and students in creating a dynamic and creative learning environment. We would ideally be looking for someone who is able to start in Autumn 2024 but there will be flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Support:

  • Prepare materials and equipment for art lessons.
  • Assist teachers during practical art sessions.
  • Support students with their projects and provide guidance on techniques and materials.


Maintenance and Inventory:

  • Maintain art supplies and ensure they are well-stocked and organized.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safe storage of equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and order supplies as needed.


Health and Safety:

  • Ensure the art studios and storage areas are kept clean and safe.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a secure environment for students and staff.
  • Conduct risk assessments for art activities and equipment.


Administrative Duties:

  • Keep records of supplies and equipment usage.
  • Assist in organising and setting up displays and exhibitions of student artwork.
  • Manage the art department budget under the guidance of the Head of Art.


Collaboration and Innovation:

  • Work closely with the Head of Art and other teachers to develop and implement innovative teaching resources and techniques.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to the planning and evaluation of the art curriculum.


Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Art or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or educational environment is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for art and education.
