We are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and versatile Assistant Caretaker to assist the Site Manager in the operational facilities procedures of the school, in order to provide a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community. Candidates will need to have a full clean UK driving licence and it is desirable if this includes the D1 category to be able to drive the school minibus. The Assistant Caretaker will be responsible for regular vehicle checks on the school’s minibus.

The successful candidate will be on occasion requested to work outside their contractual hours of 8am – 5pm, and will be paid overtime for doing so. It is desirable that the successful candidate is willing and flexible to work additional evening and weekend hours, as and when required and be able to carry out general repairs and maintenance of the school site.

Candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • the ability to work as part of a team and independently using their own initiative
  • the ability to interact and communicate with a range of people
  • sound knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations
  • general DIY skills to be able to carry out general repairs and maintenance around the school site
  • the flexibility to work additional hours during evenings and weekends when required
