The Governors wish to appoint a competent, enthusiastic, dynamic and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to its Pupil Referral Service. If you can bring vision, creativity and expertise to the service, this job is for you.

 

This is a challenging but hugely rewarding post, engaging with our most vulnerable young people, their families and other agencies to help them develop and achieve. We are looking for an excellent communicator, with a strong team ethos to contribute towards our positive learning culture that promotes success and personal well-being. Our pupils know that there is always an adult who will listen to them and give them help if they have any worries. (OFSTED 2022)

The Assistant Head will support the Executive Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers in:

Communicating TPRS’ vision compellingly and supporting the Executive Headteacher’s strategic leadership

The day-to-day management of TPRS

Formulating the aims and objectives of TPRS

Establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives

Managing staff and resources to that end

Monitoring progress towards the achievement of TPRS’ aims and objectives

 

Tameside Pupil Referral Service is a Key Stage 2-4 Provision, committed to the education of pupils permanently excluded from school, as well as others who have special educational and medical needs. The successful candidate will be joining a diverse and vibrant local authority committed to excellence and where support for our most vulnerable young people features prominently in our priorities.

 

The KS3 and KS4 facilities were purpose built in 2012 under the Building Schools for the Future programme and offer outstanding opportunities for further development.
