OVERVIEW:

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Headteacher to join the SLT of this progressive and happy school. The right candidate for this role will have a proven track record who can plan strategically and have the ability to motivate and inspire a varied team of teachers in new strategies to improve teaching and learning over the whole school.

Preston Muslim Girls High School is an ‘Outstanding’ comprehensive, Voluntary Aided, Muslim Girl’ School, situated in the midst of the community, close to the city centre. It was graded Outstanding in both of its inspections, Section 5 and Section 48 inspections.

The school has the highest P8 within the authority and was ranked 10th nationally. This demonstrates the high expectations and performance of all within the school.

The school provides a welcoming, calm and safe environment in which our young people can thrive. Staff in every area of the school, whatever their role, are kind, thoughtful and entirely focused on ensuring that every child makes the most of the opportunities offered to them. Safeguarding and Child Protection practices are exemplary; attendance rates are exceptional; and visitors to the school frequently comment upon the exemplary behaviour and attitude of our pupils.

Preston Muslim Girls High School is an all girls, Muslim secondary school in Lancashire, serving students from the age of 11-19. The secondary school, situated in Preston has over 600 students on record. It is administered by Lancashire County Council.

Preston Muslim Girls High School opened in 1989 and is supported by the Preston Teaching School Alliance. It was identified as outstanding by Ofsted in 2016 & 2022.   Students have the opportunity to study BTEC programmes along with GCSEs.

Preston Muslim Girls High School’s aim is to provide all students with a high quality education where they can achieve to the highest of their ability. The secondary school wishes to help nurture students to develop their own personal potential and ambition. The Muslim faith is at the centre of the school’s values and it promotes Islamic morals through it’s Tarbiyah programme. It is important to Preston Muslim Girls High School that students leave with the required skills and manners to go on to become a valued and active member of society. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are on offer for students to get involved in and expand their experiences and skills beyond the classroom, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
