Little Heath School (LHS) is a foundation special school in the heart of leafy Redbridge that caters to learners aged 11-19 with severe learning difficulties and Autism.

We are seeking an Assistant Head Teacher to support the strategic leadership of the school, a leader who will challenge, inspire and drive school improvement to achieve the best outcomes for students. The successful candidate will be a highly organised, caring and skilled practitioner who will support the Head Teacher in actively promoting the vison and ethos in every aspect of school life. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who is forward thinking, innovative in leadership and displays a passion for education, learning and well-being.

 Specific areas of responsibility will be agreed with the successful applicant.

You will: 

  • Be an exceptional individual who demonstrates energy, passion and excellent
  • Be highly committed and supportive of governors, staff and parents.
  • Demonstrate experience of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of strategies to raise standards and achievement of students.
  • Be committed to working in partnership with students, governors, staff, parents and the wider community.
  • Be aspirational for all students to achieve their maximum potential.
  • To take a lead role, working closely with the senior leadership team and other leading practitioners in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practice that lead to school improvement.
  • Undertake research into best practice in other schools
