We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our dedicated and supportive staff body. As SENCO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all students, regardless of their individual needs, are able to reach their full potential. The successful applicant will be instrumental in their strategic leadership and play their part in contributing towards the continued development of the school, our staff and of course the best outcomes for our students.

Requirements:

  • NASENCO qualification or NPQ SENCO (new mandatory qualification Sept 2024)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Substantial experience working as a SENCO or in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and high expectations for all students

Desirable Qualities:

  • Experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Additional qualifications or training in special educational needs
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of teaching assistants and learning support staff
  • Proven track record of improving outcomes for students with SEN
