Monday to Friday

Term time only including Inset Days + 1 weeks (40 weeks per annum)

The Governors are seeking to recruit an Attendance Outreach and Learning Mentor. The Attendance Outreach and Learning Mentor will work under the direction of the Head of Learning – Inclusion to assist pupils overcome the barriers they and their families face with regard to attending school. A major part of the post will be to build positive relationships with parents and explore ways to increase learning opportunities throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support pupils attendance being at or above 95%
  • Re-engage pupils with attending school through mentoring, 1:1 sessions and in class support
  • Promote pupil well being
  • Develop a positive relationship with the families and help them to overcome barriers to attendance
  • Collect pupils from home and accompany them to school
  • To liaise with pupils, parents and professionals as appropriate
  • Working with colleagues across the school to support pupil welfare
  • Commitment to ensuring that all pupils in the school are supported to achieve their best
  • Be fully supportive of the school’s Roman Catholic ethos and able to contribute to the wider life of the school
