About the role

  • Work closely with the Attendance Information Officer, drawing on indicators that reveal barriers to attendance, identifying solutions to removing these barriers and liaising with scholars, parents and external agencies in securing improvement.
  • The ability to drive is essential, along with owning your own vehicle.
  • Maintain robust chronologies outlining all communication, support and intervention for individual pupils who do not attend well??
  • Conduct daily attendance checks for pupils attending alternative providers and hospital schools?
  • Source and deliver suitable intervention programmes and engage with LA led interventions such as the EBSA programme

Full time 37 hours per week, Term time 39 weeks per year, Permanent

About our Academy

We are situated across two iconic sites on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and our Secondary phase is now heavily oversubscribed. We are building partnerships with the new East Bank development, including the BBC, UCL, V&A East which is bringing incredible opportunities to the young people of East London.

Since the school was founded in 2017, we have set ambitious academic standards backed up by exciting enrichment opportunities, whilst nurturing and caring for the wellbeing of every child. At capacity, our two sites will accommodate over 1500 scholars, including a Sixth Form.

Built on the legacy of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games we enjoy world beating facilities including a competition standard 400m running track, full size football pitch and field events space, Astro-turf pitch, and state of the art classrooms and school buildings. Taking leadership inspiration from our namesake and the 1966 World Cup winning team we are inspired to generate transformational change for the young people in our care.

Who we are looking for

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 / 4 or equivalent.
  • Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to persuade and negotiate as well as good interpersonal / communication skills.
  • Ability to use IT systems effectively to record information and monitor outcomes for individuals and groups.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up to date records.
  • Demonstrate an ability to cope with stressful / conflict situations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of attendance regulations.
  • At least one year’s related experience of work within a school attendance related service working with children, young people, parents and families preferably within an educational context.
  • Committed to promoting the welfare of all children and creating a safe environment in which children can learn; considering, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.
