The Exciting Role 

The College Group is looking for a Biology Science Technician to join our dedicated Science Team on a full-time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. Flexibility will be required in this role as the successful candidate will be based at two of the College’s campuses; Nelson and Colne College as well as Accrington and Rossendale College.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Be able to prepare and maintain resources for L2, L3, Access to HE Diploma, A-level Biological Science. This will include preparation of micro-biological media and cultures
  • Research, design and trial practicals, as required
  • Set-up and remove equipment in laboratories, as required
  • Clean and maintain equipment and apparatus
  • Care for plant and animal collections

What We Are Looking For:

  • Level 2 qualification in Science, Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • A relevant Lab Technician qualification and/or science study at level 4 or above
  • Keep up to date with current laboratory practise
  • Experience of working as a science technician in a laboratory
  • Display initiative, be positive and enthusiastic
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Possess excellent communication skills
