Job overview

We are looking to appoint an inspiring, enthusiastic and committed brass teacher to our vibrant Music Department. The right candidate will teach brass here during the school day, which runs from 8.15am-3.55pm, and rehearse a weekly brass ensemble. The right candidate will prepare pupils for exams and concerts. At the moment there are 4 brass pupils, two of whom are in Year 6, so the right candidate will be expected to increase numbers and be able to offer up to 6 hours over the next few years.

One-to-one lessons are 30 minutes and offered to pupils from Years 2 to 6, or when the teacher deems suitable.

Chandlings Prep is a busy school, so we are looking for someone who is flexible and efficient, an excellent time-keeper, who is good with technology, and able to use their initiative to respond to the school’s needs. The successful candidate should be able to keep on-top of all weekly administration, and stay in touch via email.

Applicants must hold a relevant musical qualification as a minimum requirement. Relevant experience of working in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
