Job overview

We wish to appoint an outstanding Business Teacher to join a well-established, well-resourced and successful faculty.

Business & ICT is a multidisciplinary faculty that incorporates ICT & Business. The aim is to encourage students to gain and develop knowledge, conceptual understanding, research skills, analytical and interpretive skills, and communication skills, contributing to the development of the student as a whole. Business is taught as a popular GCSE option at KS4 and is offered as A Level, BTEC Diploma and BTEC Extended Diploma at KS5. Most courses are very often over-subscribed.

You will be working alongside a team of experienced members of staff in a department with great teaching.

This post offers a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive department and school committed to powerful knowledge, creativity and an education to understand the world and change it for the better.

This post is being offered on a full or part time basis (4 days per week).

ECTs are very welcome to apply and will receive a full induction programme with the support and guidance of senior members of staff.

We are looking for someone who:

• is passionate about Business with the ability to inspire students

• can demonstrate excellent teaching and classroom management skills

• has the ability to build good relationships with all students and adults

• has a commitment to developing curriculum activities within the Business department

We can offer you a great working environment where staff are very well supported to develop their teaching practice. Our recent Ofsted report states that, “Staff enjoy working at the school. They appreciate the many opportunities they are given for professional development. Staff receive great care from leaders for their workload and well-being.” (Ofsted, 2024).

Located in Kidbrooke, south-east London, Thomas Tallis School is a large co-educational secondary school providing places to pupils aged 11-18. The school was originally founded in 1971. In 2012 it moved into a brand-new purpose-built building on the site of a former airfield.

With capacity for around 2,000 students, Thomas Tallis is larger than the average secondary school. It operates a large sixth form, welcoming students who have come up through Thomas Tallis School, as well as pupils from other schools in the local area.
