The Samworth Church Academy are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Music Tutor to join our expanding department. We are interested in applicants who can teach violin and singing to students in the 11-18 age range.

Therefore, the successful applicant may be a multi-instrumentalist who can deliver high quality lessons on two or more instruments, or an individual who teaches a single instrument.

The successful applicant will be expected to consistently deliver outstanding and inspiring instrumental music lessons to our students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about music education and sharing their instrumental knowledge. They will be responsible for ensuring all students who are participating in instrumental lessons are making good progress, setting ambitious goals for students and supporting any music qualifications students are participating in (GCSE, A Level and graded music exams). They will also be responsible for appropriately differentiating and scaffolding their teaching to ensure that lessons are accessible to all students.

We welcome applications from good instrumental music qualifications (Grade 8 primary instrument and Grade 5 or above at a secondary instrument).

This is an excellent and rare opportunity for a fantastic candidate who currently works in music education and wants to build a long-term instrumental music provision to help our students achieve their full potential.

This position will be offered on a zero hour casual contract with working hours within the normal school day and academic term time (39 weeks). Although the contract is zero hours, we anticipate a consistent demand for instrumental lessons and as the provision grows, hours will likely increase.
