Job title: Chef de Partie
Reporting to: Head Chef / Bursar
We are looking for a fixed-term contract Chef de Partie to work for a five week period from Monday 13th January 2025 to Friday 14th February 2025. Working hours are from 06:30 to 14:30 each day.
The catering team is an integral part of the school community, providing high quality food to our pupils, staff as well as catering for regular functions and match teas for parents and visitors.
You will be involved with the preparation of main lunch meals. During food service you should be flexible to assist other food stations as required.
Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in the school catering industry but any commercial experience is welcome as we are catering for over 300 covers per day. You must be friendly and enjoy working as part of a team.

General Responsibilities (not exhaustive)
- Ensure that appropriate methods of cooking and presentation are used to maintain the highest standards of production and service
- Ensure that regulations regarding hygiene, health and safety are complied with
- Assist with receipt of goods received to ensure statutory and quality standards are maintained
- Assist with the monitoring of production and wastage
- Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues
- Be aware of specific dietary needs of our pupils and plan accordingly.
- Provide the Acting-Head Chef with any stock that needs to be ordered.
- Be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the serving of meals.
- Be prepared to work outside normal working hours for special function catering as and when required by the school.
- Assist the Acting-Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen hygiene and health and safety including temperature control and the taking of sample pots.
- Assist in the organisation of cleaning rotas and assist in cleaning kitchen and associated areas as required.
