RAK Academy is seeking a dynamic and committed Compliance Officer to join us for the Academic Year 2024-2025. This is an exciting role which will be directly reporting to the Executive Principal.

Job Purpose

RAK Academy places a strong focus on attracting, retaining and developing highly talented and passionate professionals to ensure the strategic aims of its schools are fully realized.

As a Compliance Officer main objective is updating the school with the Ministry of Education rules and guidelines related to student registration, staff registration and licensing, school licenses and students’ equivalencies. Serves as a coordinating officer for all the school relations with the UAE Ministry of Education and related online portal services and requirements. Responsible for ensuring compliance is maintained in relation to all regulatory authorities to ensure RAK Academy continues to be always fully licensed and statutorily compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update communication channels with the MOE and other relevant regulatory authorities and manage and coordinate all communications and requests from/to the MOE.

• Ensure up to date knowledge of all relevant statutory regulations applicable to the school and always ensure compliance with these

• Ensure that all relevant school policies and procedures, related to compliance are updated in a timely fashion and published internally and on the school website as necessary. 

• Continual compliance risk assessment of all areas of school operations, together with the development of internal policies and procedures, compliance training and protocols.

• Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry initiatives and advise management accordingly.

• Liaise with third parties, together with the company’s management, that wish to understand the school’s control environment, compliance policies and procedures. 

• Provide regular reporting and tracking with respect to regulatory requirements and developments, including the development and maintenance of compliance checklists, and prepare compliance reports, as and when due.

• Inform the Executive Principal of any findings as regards non-compliance that may require investigation and/or action. 

• Responsibility for the Al Manhal system as follows:

1. Accessing the Al Manhal system and ensuring security of access rights on behalf of RAK Academy licenses.

• Support for the Al Manhal system as follows:

1. Student Affairs – Provide support as required to the Admissions Department (Admissions Department has responsibility for a student registration, admissions, assessment and transcript data within Al Manhal)

• Ensure termly/annual MOE approvals for all activities/trips/events are completed.

• Report compliance issues, recommend solutions and ensure approved actions in relation to compliance is undertaken effectively. 

• Always ensures the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.

• Any other duties as required by the assigned.

• Ensure all RAK Academy licenses are obtained for all its functional activities (including Trade and Educational licenses).

• Ensure that contract renewal timeframes are adhered to and liaise directly with the relevant RAK Academy department to ensure timely action in relation to third party contracts. 

• Facilitate training to ensure full adherence to the requirements of the Teacher Licensing System (TLS) for Academic staff, as required by the MOE and ensure the portals are updated as required to ensure continuity of compliance.

• Ensure that policies relating to statutory and regulatory compliance are in place, are always updated and are displayed on the RAK Academy website as required.

• Ensure that all documentation required for Inspections by regulatory authorities is always up to date and accessible for relevant departments.

The candidate must have:

·       Bachelor’s degree or Diploma’s degree

·       Professional level proficiency in English & Arabic (written and spoken)

·       Advanced MS Projects and MS office skills

·       1 year experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.

·        Knowledge of customer service and/or relationship management.

·  Well oriented with social media
