We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised Cover Supervisor to co-ordinate the planning of cover for staff absences and provide cover duties to support both planned and unplanned teaching staff absences in our School.
The successful candidate will organise and plan the allocation of daily cover arrangements ensuring that agreed lesson plans are delivered effectively and efficiently.
You will liaise with our current teachers, bank of supply teachers and also external supply agencies to secure the best cover arrangements for absence, when required.
The successful candidate will have good communication, time management and proficient ICT skills. The role can be fast paced and challenging with no two days the same, so we are looking for someone who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, whilst ensuring the educational provision for students is maintained to the highest standard of attainment and achievement.
You should have a proven track record of supervising classes in the absence of teachers with the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team, when necessary.
You will be:
- Working closely with the School teaching team and have experience of supervising classes and supporting our pupils’ learning
- Have the necessary ICT skills to navigate MS Word, Excel and our MIS iSAMS for absence and cover reporting (training will be provided for our MIS)
- Experience of resource preparation to support cover requirements
- Previous experience of working in a school setting with children
- Working knowledge of MIS and cover arrangements
- Experience of working with supply agencies maintaining professional relationships and working within agreed budgets and legal parameters
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all pupils and colleagues
- The ability to work with sensitive information and maintaining strict confidentiality in all forms including electronically, written form and verbally
- Ability to promote a positive ethos and role model positive attitudes
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Planning own workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
- Ability to work with children at all levels regardless of specific individual needs and identify learning styles as appropriate
- Understanding of inclusion in a school setting
