As a Cover Supervisor, you will support our ethos of raising standards and transforming lives by supporting the delivery of quality education under the guidance of teaching staff. This is a permanent role working 32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00am until 03:00pm), during term time plus five days. However, part-time options will be considered. Please confirm your preference in your application form.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will work across the age range 11 to 16 covering lessons for absent colleagues by delivering the pre-prepared lesson resources. This role may include supervising whole classes or working with an individual or small groups in or out of the classroom. Thus, you will be given the opportunity to work across a wide range of subjects.
You DO NOT need to be a qualified teacher although, you will obtain valuable experience and insight which can be successfully used as a stepping stone into teacher training! You DO need to be able to positively interact with young people, and have the ability to motivate and challenge students in order to maintain a positive learning environment. Therefore, this rewarding role will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in education.
