Job overview

We are a disruptive school start-up, reimagining education that promotes human flourishing by putting relationships, personal wellbeing, and a strong connection to nature at the core of the learning process.  Our learning approach is grounded in and inspired by the Islamic faith, Emirati culture, and the Arabic language, based on our location.

We believe the world is a living classroom and we’re well positioned to advance a learning model that allows for real world continuous learning as part of our key purpose: to develop global stewards.

The impact our disruptive start-up will make will depend upon a team who not only understand education, but are familiar with its strengths, limitations, and potential.  We aim to recruit talent that we can nurture – teacher ‘incubator’ style – who grow with us and, one day, lead learning communities.

Join us in redefining education and empowering students to thrive in a dynamic world!

We are currently looking for a Curriculum Lead at (un)School who is an innovative, forward-thinking educational leader. This individual will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum to align with our school's progressive education philosophy.

Role and Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Leadership: Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of comprehensive curricular frameworks and programs that embody progressive pedagogical practices.

Curriculum Alignment: Ensure that all instructional strategies, materials, and assessment tools across different grade levels and subject areas are coherent, integrated, and aligned with our educational objectives.

Professional Development: Spearhead professional development initiatives for teachers that focus on progressive education techniques, the latest curriculum trends, and effective instructional strategies.

Instructional Support: Provide teachers with the guidance and resources needed to implement the curriculum effectively, including coaching and mentoring on progressive teaching practices.

Assessment and Evaluation: Lead the development of diverse and authentic assessment methods that are consistent with progressive pedagogy, assisting educators in effectively evaluating and reflecting upon learning.

Learning Analysis: Use data from student assessments to inform curriculum adjustments and to guide instructional practices, ensuring the achievement of academic outcomes and the growth of individual learners.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Promote and support the collaboration among teachers to create interdisciplinary units that reflect real-world challenges and inquiries, providing a cohesive learning experience for children.

Community Engagement: Foster partnerships with parents, community members, and external organizations to enrich the curriculum and extend learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Compliance and Accreditation: Monitor and ensure compliance with educational standards and best practices, while actively pursuing accreditation goals and continuous quality improvement.

Monitoring Progress: Regularly review and report on the effectiveness of the curriculum and the progress of the curriculum initiatives to stakeholders, including school leadership and the school board.
