Mosslands is a successful community school which provides a fully comprehensive education for about 1000 boys aged from 11 to 19 years old. We have a mixed Sixth Form which offers a wide range of academic and vocational provision and is carefully matched to the needs and aspirations of our students. Progression figures into higher and further education and into successful employment are amongst the highest in the North West.

We are an innovative school and became the first school in the region to be recognised as a STE@M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) centre of excellence. This has seen us build excellent links with universities and compete successfully on a national level in STEM related competitions.

Mosslands is highly regarded for its provision for pupils with special educational needs.

The school has a warm and caring ethos and we foster a sense of ambition within our pupils.

Our school ethos is built upon the core values; “Care, Commitment and Challenge”. We provide a caring, well-disciplined and orderly environment in which pupils are able to learn and thrive. We look for a shared commitment by pupils, staff and parents to value their learning. We challenge all of our pupils to achieve high academic and behavioural standards.
