About the Job: 

We wish to appoint a part time Curriculum Technician. The Curriculum Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting a range of practical subjects, such as Media, Drama, Music and Photography as well as working alongside the school’s IT department. This role involves providing technical support and assistance to both students and staff and is essential in maintaining technical resources, administering computer systems, supervising student activities, and offering administrative support. Additionally, the Curriculum Technician contributes to school-wide media / technical projects.

 We are seeking a Curriculum Technician who:

·        Provide hands-on assistance with a range of software and technical tools used across the school such as video production and editing, visual effects, graphic design, web design, music production, lighting and theatre technical support.

·        Actively engage with students during coursework / NEA production, offering troubleshooting and creative guidance.

·        Manage and maintain a variety of technical equipment including DSLR cameras, tripods, sound recorders, lighting, mixers, computers, tablets, laptops and microphones.

·        Ensure all equipment is operational, charged, and safely stored; train staff and students on proper equipment use.

·        Perform routine upkeep and maintenance of computers, including software updates and hardware checks.

·        Resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime and optimise learning efficiency.

·        Advise and support students using Adobe products and other software such as the Ableton and Sibelius Music software. (Note: previous experience with this is desirable but not essential)

·        Research and recommend replacements or repairs for damaged or lost equipment.

·        Oversee additional media suite spaces, music and theatre studios and supervise students using technical equipment to ensure safety and compliance with safeguarding policies.

·        Manage studio / theatre sessions or productions, providing supervision while students work with complex equipment.

·        Collaborate with other departments on media-related projects, including filming, editing, and producing content for school-wide initiatives.

·        Support various departments with videography, editing, and media production needs.

Trinity Catholic High School is a denominational, co-educational secondary school in Woodford Green, Essex. There are 1660 students on the school roll, 464 of whom are in the sixth form.

Founded in 1976, the school’s motto is "In Christ We Shall Flourish". Its most famous former student is Olympic gold-medal-winning athlete Christine Ohuruogu.
