Newark Academy has an opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Exams and Cover Manager.

Your main responsibilities within this role will be:

  • Liaise with SLT to check accuracy of examination entries
  • Lead exam administration
  • Making the necessary arrangements in relation to arranging, administering and timetabling of public and internal examinations
  • Preparing examination timetables, book necessary rooms, prepare seating plans, monitor and check examination papers
  • Providing a timetable to include dates, times, venues and number of students
  • Recruit and organise exam invigilators, strategically coordinating the leadership planning of invigilating of exams
  • Assisting with the daily preparation of examination papers and other resources during examination seasons. Ensuring that attendance registers and seating plans are completed
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of candidates’ responses
  • Managing and organising cover for absent teachers.
  • Organising and providing induction and support for supply teaching staff.
  • Ensuring that safeguarding requirements and other relevant regulations are in place and adhered to including the completion and recording of necessary checks.
  • Managing and monitoring relevant budgets.
  • Support with administration of the school timetable in relation to cover and otherwise, both in Nova T6 or equivalent, and Bromcom.
  • To support any other administrative function within the school as required.

The Trust and school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with DfE requirements.
