Job overview
The British School Al Khubairat is looking to employ a full-time Deputy Director of Sport, to commence September 2025. This is a key role within the School, working closely with a wide range of staff and the wider community.
The successful candidate will oversee the day to day running of PE, GCSE and BTEC Sport and the development of Schemes of Work across all year groups.
BSAK is rated ‘Outstanding’ across all performance standards in both our local Government Agency inspection (ADEK) and that of British Schools Overseas (BSO). In 2023, the School was awarded five awards in the Schools Compared.com ‘Top School Awards’ - Overall Best School in the UAE, Best British Curriculum, Best School for Sport, Best Fine Art and Best Principal. The School is also the first outside of the UK to receive the Carnegie Gold Award for Mental Health.
Candidates will be UK qualified teachers with either a Bachelor of Education degree or a subject related degree, plus a PGCE qualification. They should have a minimum of 6 years’ teaching experience and have a minimum of two years undertaking a role with management responsibilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Sport leading an experienced, dedicated Physical Education and Sports Department, achieving the very best from every member of the team. BSAK is proud to offer an extensive Co-curricular and Enrichment programme which supports the School’s participation in an array of sporting competition across the Middle-East. We are looking for someone to bring their expertise and passion to BSAK to ensure the very best PE and Sporting opportunities for every student, whether that be at grass roots or elite level, in the classroom and beyond.
