As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Head, the successful candidate will be encouraged to think outside the box and implement new initiatives. They will be expected to provide inspirational leadership of the Senior School academic staff, setting demanding standards and having high expectations of colleagues and students alike. The Deputy Head (Academic) will play a leading role in raising Westonbirt’s academic profile both nationally and internationally, supporting the recruitment and retention of pupils.

Founded in 1928, Westonbirt School is a secondary school with a sixth form for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 18. There are currently around 500 pupils enrolled at the school. It is situated on 210 acres of land in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. The school has a thriving boarding community. Pupil numbers have grown rapidly since the transition to full co-education in September 2019. A whole site development masterplan is in place which has seen significant investment in new teaching spaces, boarding accommodation, sports facilities and infrastructure.
