Deputy Head Boarding House (m/f/d) // Stellvertretender Internatsleiter (m/w/d)

Cologne International School is a vibrant community of 480 students from grades 1 -12, drawn from over 50 countries. We offer the IB PYP, MYP and DP programmes, and are committed to developing future-focussed education of the highest standard. We have recently relocated to a brand new purpose built campus, which includes a boarding house.

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Boarding to support the development and expansion of our boarding programme. 

Your Qualifications

• Certification as a pedagogical specialist (for example, teaching qualification, social pedagogy, therapeutic pedagogy, social work, etc.) 
• Three years minimum work experience as full time or part time boarding house educational support
• High degree of independence, persuasiveness, assertiveness and creativity
• Knowledge of German and English, one language must be mastered at least at C1 level, the other at B1 level with the willingness to qualify at B2 level

Your Tasks

Assist the Head of Boarding in:

• Developing educational programing for the boarding school
• Personnel planning, management and development
• Professional support and advice for Boarding House Team and boarders
• Coordination of the organizational processes in the Boarding House
• Conception and coordination of the pedagogical objectives of the boarding school
• Continuous exchange and close cooperation between school and administrative departments

As residential Boarding House Assistant: 

• Everyday support and promotion of independence for young people aged 15-19 years
• Mentoring pedagogy taking into account individual objectives of the young person
• Development and planning of leisure activities
• Working with parents
• Development of individual support offers
• Networking (schools, authorities, associations, cooperation partners, etc.)
• Participation in regular supervision meetings
• Taking over administrative tasks
• Team meetings

Working Hours

• part-time or full-time
• 25-40 hours a week in shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends

Salary Range

• 42,000 - 60,000 (for full-time, depending on qualification and experience)

Ihre Qualifikationen

• Abschluss als pädagogische Fachkraft (z. B. Lehrbefähigung, Sozialpädagogik, Heilpädagogik, Sozialarbeit usw.) 
• Mindestens drei Jahre Berufserfahrung als pädagogische/r Internatsbetreuer/in in Voll- oder Teilzeit
• Hohes Maß an Selbstständigkeit, Überzeugungskraft, Durchsetzungsvermögen und Kreativität
• Kenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch, eine Sprache muss mindestens auf C1-Level beherrscht werden, die andere auf B1-Level mit der Bereitschaft der Qualifikation auf B2-Level

Ihre Aufgaben

Unterstützung des Internatsleiters bei:

• Entwicklung des pädagogischen Konzepts für das Internat
• Personalplanung, -führung und -entwicklung
• Fachliche Unterstützung und Beratung des Internatsteams und der Internatsschüler
• Koordinierung der organisatorischen Abläufe im Internat
• Konzeption und Koordination der pädagogischen Ziele des Internats
• Kontinuierlicher Austausch und enge Zusammenarbeit zwischen Schule und Verwaltung

Als Internatsassistentin: 

• Alltagsbegleitung und Förderung der Selbständigkeit von Jugendlichen im Alter von 15-19 Jahren
• Betreuungspädagogik unter Berücksichtigung der individuellen Zielsetzungen des jungen Menschen
• Entwicklung und Planung von Freizeitaktivitäten
• Zusammenarbeit mit den Eltern
• Entwicklung von individuellen Unterstützungsangeboten
• Vernetzung (Schulen, Behörden, Vereine, Kooperationspartner, etc.)
• Teilnahme an regelmäßigen Supervisionssitzungen
• Übernahme von Verwaltungsaufgaben
• Teambesprechungen

Arbeitszeiten

• Teilzeit oder Vollzeit
• 25-40 Stunden pro Woche im Schichtdienst, auch abends, nachts und am Wochenende

Gehaltsspanne

• 42.000 - 60.000 (bei Vollzeit, je nach Qualifikation und Erfahrung)
