Position Summary
- Lead and inspire as a key member of the Secondary Leadership Team.
- Teach English (KS3-5) and Drama across secondary key stages.
- Drive the development and implementation of school-wide policies to improve student outcomes.
- Collaborate with staff to foster a creative and supportive learning environment.
- Mentor and develop colleagues, enhancing teaching and learning practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership and support the Head of Secondary in daily operations.
- Develop and deliver inspiring schemes of work for English and Drama, ensuring alignment with the UK National Curriculum.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos and culture by organising performances, events, and extracurricular opportunities in Drama and English.
- Monitor and track student progress, using data to inform strategies and interventions.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Actively engage in professional development and lead initiatives to enhance curriculum delivery.
- Promote cross-curricular links and participate in whole-school initiatives.
Person Specification
- A proven leader with a passion for English and Drama.
- Demonstrated interest in international education, cultural exchange, and multiculturalism.
- UK-qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience delivering GCSE and A-Level English.
- Expertise in teaching Drama, with experience directing school plays or performances.
- Strong organisational skills, flexibility, and a commitment to collaboration.
- Familiarity with international schooling and working with ESL students is a plus.
Remuneration Package
- Initial two-year contract with a competitive salary and benefits.
- Accommodation allowance, economy flights at the start and end of the contract (up to £350), private health insurance, and visa/work permit sponsorship.
- 100% tuition fee remission for up to 2 children.
