Responsible To:          Headteacher and Governors

Purpose of Job:           To assist the Headteacher in the leadership and management of the school and in all aspects of school improvement, including taking full responsibility for the school in the absence of the Headteacher.

 

About the Role

The postholder will take full responsibility for leading and managing significant aspects of the school, under the overall direction of the Headteacher. With delegated responsibilities for Teaching and Learning, Curriculum and Assessment in addition to carrying out the professional duties of a teacher other than a Headteacher. This includes any duties as may be reasonably directed by the Headteacher and the accountabilities expected of class teachers at Heber Primary School.

 

We are looking for someone who:

·        Is an excellent teacher who can lead, support and inspire our staff;

·        Is highly motivated and organised;

·        Has experience of leading initiatives that have had positive impact on pupil progress and attainment and have raised standards;

·        Is passionate about the curriculum and about how children learn;

·        Has experience of leading a team and has excellent interpersonal skills;

·        Enjoys working with children with a variety of strengths and needs;

·        Will work as part of a team to lead and help to drive school improvement.
