Job overview

Deputy Principal – Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe

As an aspiring or existing Deputy Principal we know we need to appeal to your motivations to make sure we (Oasis and OA Nunsthorpe) are your next preferred career move.

So, what makes us special and worthy of your consideration? What might tempt you to join the Oasis Community of educators? Here’s a few things we are proud of:

We are honest and transparent. This means we don’t hide the fact that we are located in a challenging area of the country where perceptions of education vary widely. But it also means we are in a location where your impact can genuinely change lives and bring hope and opportunity to a highly diverse and inclusive community with much to offer.

We are ambitious: Sitting on a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted is not sufficient or where we aspire to be. We need leadership that sees opportunity to improve and is not afraid to challenge methods and ways of achieving better outcomes. We encourage different thinkers and innovative doers.

We are supportive: To succeed we recognise people thrive with access to a powerful, naturally supportive network of like-minded professionals. We are focused on supporting our teams through our network of outstanding schools, meaning you will not be alone in your quest to become Outstanding. We bolster this peer support with great CIPD across the Trust as part of our DNA. Its non-negotiable and always available.

We invest: Not only in our people through development opportunities but in our facilities – at OA Nunsthorpe you will have access to a refurbished site with great outdoor facilities and lots of open space to offer wide ranging educational stimulus to all our young people. Whatever the weather.

We are future focused: For our schools to deliver the best education possible we recognise the best educators will want to develop themselves and progress. We know great teaching and leadership comes through the best people. So, we encourage and support this ambition to help you become the best you can be, and with both UK wide and International locations and however lofty and far-reaching your personal ambitions are – we are confident we can fulfil that aspiration.

What are we looking for:

First and foremost - Ambition, Resilience and Vision. We need a Deputy Principal who can step up to the multiple challenges of running a school whilst providing great support, ideation and practical interventions to the Principal. We need an adaptable, collaborative, flexible individual who gets the power and impact of community and is a proven and effective relationship builder.

Beyond that – you will be a highly effective educator with presence and credibility developed through experience and exposure to wide-ranging educational situations.

If this sounds like you and the opportunity to make your mark, build your career and change lives appeals – we would love to hear from you. Full job description attached.
