About the Role
St Francis Xavier College is seeking to recruit a Digital Technologies Teacher. St Francis Xavier College is committed to excellence and innovation in teaching and learning and to preparing our students for 21st Century work, life, and leisure. Our classrooms are places of support and nurture where we are teaching our students to think critically and creatively, and to collaborate and communicate with skill and confidence. This position will suit a Digital Technologies Teacher who has the ability and commitment to add to the dynamism of our vision for 21st Century education and the qualifications and commitment to teach Digital Technology from Years 7 to 12.
The Digital Technology Faculty is a highly skilled, professional, and dynamic team who are passionate about curriculum and pedagogical practice. In conjunction with their professional practice in the classroom, our teachers are charged with remaining current in their understanding of the Australian Curriculum and BSSS policy and practice. Our teachers are supported in their practice and formation with professional learning opportunities and are capable users of technology in the classroom.
The successful applicant will demonstrate exemplary professional practice and will contribute both professionally and collegially to the vision of the College and Faculty. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated love of learning are hallmarks of the professional practice of our teachers.

Essential Criteria
It is essential that the successful applicant have:
- Commitment to uphold the Catholic ethos and willingness to support the Catholic tradition of St Francis Xavier College;
- Ability to maximise student learning through the delivery of high quality teaching programs, employing effective and high yielding, pedagogical practices;
- Tertiary educational qualifications in the Digital Technologies area, with the ability and willingness to teach in more than one area;
- Capacity to actively employ technology seamlessly to assist in effective learning;
- Ability to implement cooperative learning strategies to increase engagement through student centred learning; and
- Active and continuous professional learning that is relevant to their area/ Digital Technologies discipline as well as concerns and debates in the education sphere more generally.
