Job overview

Part Time, 18.5 hours • Truro

We are seeking a dynamic Training Advisor for our Early Years Technical, Future Skills and University Early Years Programmes. The role involves assessing, and supporting learners across Cornwall to ensure they are successful and achieve their occupational, professional, and technical qualifications.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of learners, providing guidance of the assessment process, and work with a range of staff to communicate students’ progress within the occupational standards for Early years. They will also need to build collaborative positive relationships while working closely with employers to monitor progress and help employers understand the requirements and support needed for the various qualifications.

Having an Assessor qualification (such as TAQA or equivalent) or being in the process of achieving one is essential to ensure you can lead learners through rigorous assessments and maintain high standards of compliance. This position requires a proactive individual with up-to-date early years’ experience who can offer tailored support, identifying skill gaps and facilitate additional training where necessary.

As part of your responsibilities, you will induct learners, conduct diagnostic assessments, and create bespoke programmes of learning. Regular progress reviews, clear target setting, and detailed feedback will be key to ensuring learners stay on track. All learner activities must be accurately recorded and monitored on OneFile and other tracking systems, so a good level of IT literacy is essential. You will also need to ensure compliance with audit and reporting requirements for funding bodies and promote further learning opportunities.

Additionally, if working with the occupational apprenticeship programmes, you will be responsible for preparing learners and employers for End Point Assessments (EPA), including the organisation of mock assessments and 'Gateway' meetings. Ensuring employers understand their obligations in the EPA process is a crucial aspect of this role.

We offer a generous package with benefits including up to 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays and College closure days, LGPS pension scheme, relocation package, free on-site parking and a variety of on-site benefits and discounts.

Closing date: 5pm, Monday 28 October 2024

Curriculum Vitae are not accepted, Application Forms only.

Successful candidates will be notified within 4 weeks of the closing date.
