About the role
Due to the growth of our Sixth Form and increasing demand for Economics, we are seeking an exceptional and dynamic Teacher of Economics to join our team at ELIS Murcia.
Economics sits within the Humanities Faculty, a vibrant and diverse team of experienced educators committed to academic excellence and inspiring a passion for learning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking department while helping to shape the future of a thriving subject at one of Spain's leading British curriculum schools.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning:
- High-Quality Instruction: Deliver inspiring and engaging lessons in Edexcel International A-Level Economics to Sixth Form students, ensuring academic excellence and student success.
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver a comprehensive, challenging, and engaging curriculum for both IGCSE and A-Level Economics students, aligned with British curriculum standards.
- Assessment and Feedback: Use assessment data effectively to monitor student progress, provide detailed feedback, and set targets for improvement.
- Collaboration with Humanities Faculty: Work closely with a team of dedicated and experienced teachers within the Humanities Faculty to ensure high-quality teaching and learning practices.
Academic Development and Enrichment:
- Student Support: Provide tailored academic support for students, including those aspiring to study economics or related fields at university.
- Enrichment Opportunities: Contribute to the school’s academic enrichment programme by leading activities such as an economics society, guest lectures, and trips to enhance students’ understanding of global economic issues.
- University and Careers Guidance: Work with the Sixth Form team to inspire and guide students pursuing higher education in economics or related fields.
Pastoral and Behavioural Support:
- Form Tutor Role: Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting students' well-being alongside their academic development.
- Positive Learning Environment: Foster a respectful, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment that aligns with ELIS Murcia’s core values: Respect, Care, Perseverance, Kindness, and Honesty.
Reporting and Support Structure:
- Line Manager: Head of Humanities.
- Supported By: The Humanities Faculty team and Sixth Form Leadership.

Who we are looking for:
- A degree in Economics or a closely related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Economics at IGCSE and A-Level (Edexcel International A-Level preferred).
