GIS Expansion

The Group of International Schools (GIS) is currently in the next phase of development and will be opening an International Secondary School in September 2025. We are therefore looking for a range of professionals that would be interested and excited by joining a development project. 

We are extremely excited to be opening at a site that is less than 500 metres away from the picturesque Monza park. This is one of the largest city parks in Europe and is home to the a number of motor sport events which sees hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. This setting will provide great opportunities for students to embark on their educational journeys whilst also providing an authentic experience rich in Italian culture.


About GIS

GIS was founded by a group of parents and entrepreneurs with a diverse range of nationalities and experience in International Education. The group has previously opened and managed other schools within Europe.

The GIS Board of Directors is composed by the group of founders and by international school leaders with decades of experience as Head of Schools, they serve as strategic advisors and educational supervisors.

The goal of GIS is to provide local and international families with an international and bilingual education that is broad, balanced and challenging. Through the creative use of technology and authentic, inquiry-based learning experiences, GIS schools want to empower our students to achieve their highest potential, embrace lifelong learning, and contribute positively to the global community. Our students are proud to ‘be here, be unique, and belong’. 

The group currently has schools in Sao Paulo and Monza and will be expanding to open a Secondary School in Monza along with a Primary and Secondary school in Lugano in September 2025. The current schools are authorised providers of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the new schools will be embarking on their candidacy applications for the relevant IB programmes.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an English Language and Individuals and Societies teacher who will be delivering lessons to Middle Years and High School students in our Italian Strand. The successful candidate would therefore need fluency in the Italian and English language, would be responsible for curriculum development in line with expectations from the IB, teaching of students, assessment and feedback and other roles associated with such a position. There are also opportunities for leadership roles within the school, so please indicate if you have any relevant experience in such positions. 


The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will be passionate, flexible, organised and solution focused. They should demonstrate creativity, strong collaboration and communication skills along with effective classroom management. They should show a clear understanding of relevant teaching practice including inquiry based teaching and learning. There should be a commitment to developing the core values of GIS. The candidate should demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing within school. 


Must have:

Bilingual in Italian and English Language

The right to work in Europe (such as European Passport or relevant Permesso/Visa)

An educational degree in the relevant subject.

A recognised teaching qualification in the relevant subject (eg. PGCE, iPGCE)

Exceptional subject knowledge with at least two years experience working in an educational setting.  

Dedication to continued professional development and strong collaboration with colleagues.

A passion to foster and develop a student-centred learning environment.

Relevant safeguarding checks including but not limited to police checks


Desirable:

Two years teaching experience in working in International Education

Passionate and knowledgeable about the International Baccalaureate curriculum

Experience in candidacy and authorisation processes within the IB

A passion and motivation to live and work in Northern Italy

About GIS The International School of Monza

At GIS The International School of Monza learning focuses on the development of skills and attitudes that young people require to become active participants in the world of tomorrow.
