Remuneration : Competitive, according to profile and experience. Minimum €2,000 per month (for a 3/4 part-time position).
Lab School Paris is an innovative, bilingual, community-based, secular and eco-responsible school. By 2024-2025, it will have 120 pupils from CP to 1ere, divided into six cycle classes (multi-age, multi-level). Its teaching methods are inspired by the contributions of pioneers in educational innovation such as John Dewey, Célestin Freinet, Paulo Freire and Maria Montessori, as well as current research in the field of education (educational sciences, psychology, sociology, cognitive sciences).
The school is recruiting an English-speaking teacher with a good knowledge of French to teach English in classes of 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grades. Previous experience of teaching in a collège or lycée class is essential. An International Baccalaureate 11th grade class is also available for a candidate with experience of teaching English A IBDP.
The teacher will work as part of an international team made up of French and English-speaking primary and secondary school teachers, a management team and a support team.
MISSIONS
Working closely with the other teachers at the school and with the management team, your main role will be to help implement the Lab School Paris educational project by teaching English to 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th grades and, depending on your profile, 11th year pupils.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
– To teach the skills required by the Common Base in English, as well as preparing 9th year students for the ‘brevet des collèges
– To prepare seconde students for the requirements of the International Baccalaureate
– Where applicable, prepare 11th grade IB students for the IB Diploma programme.
– Participate in the school's interdisciplinary projects
– Develop a relationship of trust with students; work with them to highlight their successes and progress on a daily basis, and support them in acquiring autonomy through differentiated teaching methods.
– Exchanging ideas with parents and talking to Lab School Network researchers
– Taking part in seminars and team meetings
PROFILE REQUIRED
– Teacher with a good knowledge of school curricula
– Teacher with a good knowledge of French or bilingual French-English
– A taste for teamwork and an interest in research
– Creativity, responsiveness, initiative, openness, team spirit
– Experience of the International Baccalaureate approach greatly appreciated and essential for teaching the première class.
– Experience of using digital tools in the classroom
– At least two years' experience of teaching a group of students (applications from people with only private tuition experience will not be considered).
