The College is very attractively landscaped with mature trees, shrubs and flower borders. Within the site there are currently over 30 acres of playing fields and 12 tennis/netball courts. There is also a floodlit multi-play outdoor complex. Our Sports Centre houses squash courts, two gymnasia and a sports hall and is open until 10.00pm each evening for student and community use.
The College’s academic facilities are housed in eight blocks which encompass modern science laboratories; specialist technology workshops; art, drama, music, dance and sound and vision recording studios; a sports conference room; extensive ICT suites equipped with over 600 computers.
In the last three years we have renewed two complete blocks and extensively renovated a further two. Current plans include vast expansion of the sports facilities and a further four new buildings in the next five years.
In addition, we also have on site a specialist department for deaf students, in which we have enrolled students from all over Kent. We use the ‘Total Communication Approach’ which has been elected by parents as being the method of education they prefer. Our deaf students have a greater level of inclusion within the College as the majority of their education takes place in mainstream classes alongside hearing students and staff.
The College prides itself on the quality of facilities for students - over 600 computers, with one computer for every two students; hi-tech digital recording studio; industry standard engineering centre; health and care training centre; and performing arts studios.
All students have free access, at all times, for both IT and Internet use. The College is open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm every day to students.
A Homework Club and Extended Day activities are also available every morning and evening to students.
