The role

If you’re looking to develop your skills or begin a career in estates, security or facilities maintenance, then Wimbledon High School has an exciting opportunity for you within our friendly, dynamic, and supportive Estates team.

As an Estates Assistant, you’ll assist with the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the school and will play a vital part in the security, general maintenance and upkeep of our buildings.

This will involve keeping the grounds tidy and well-maintained, ensuring the security of school buildings, conducting regular site checks, and responding to maintenance tickets on our Estates Helpdesk.

About you

We’re looking for a reliable and committed individual with an interest in general maintenance and repairs (painting, carpentry, plumbing etc.).

Previous caretaking, premises or building management experience is desirable, but not essential. 

You’ll demonstrate a willingness to undertake relevant training to support your progress and development in the role and within the Estates team.

You'll also be able to complete general manual handling tasks including lifting, moving, and carrying deliveries, furniture, and other loads.

In addition to this, you'll have some understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation and knowledge of fire safety, security, and emergency procedures.
