Job overview

York High School is seeking additional Invigilator colleagues to join our Exams Team in order to support the delivery of exams throughout the school. As a member of our team, you will be punctual and reliable, with a flexible approach to work. You will have good interpersonal skills to enable you to relate to students and you will be comfortable working in a formal environment which can be pressurised.

Working as a team, you will ensure a calm environment is provided for our students to help them perform at their best. You will help to make sure the right students are in the right places, provide vital information and ensure that students have all materials and information needed for each exam to ensure examination board rules are adhered to. Exams can be amongst the most important and stressful events for our students; it is therefore essential that they are conducted in the right way and our Invigilators are crucial to this process.

Full training will be provided and working hours will be negotiated for each exam period. The main summer exam season is May and June with 2 exam sessions each day (morning and afternoon). Practice exams take place in November, March and at the end of June, with 3 practice exam sessions each day (morning, mid-morning and afternoon). There may also be ad-hoc exams during the year.

In return, we can offer a supportive working environment, with colleagues who care deeply, are experts in their fields and who are passionate about what they do. We also offer a range of staff benefits, and further details regarding our benefits and information about our Trust can be found on our website.

This is a casual contract.
