Examinations Invigilator

We are seeking to appoint flexible and dependable Examinations Invigilators to join our team in January 2025. Exam Invigilators are crucial to ensure the smooth and secure running of examinations and to provide support for our students during exam season. This is a casual, hourly paid role and no previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.

As an Examinations Invigilator your responsibilities would include:

Providing support to the examination process and to support the Examinations Officer with the day-to-day operation of examination venues.

  •  Assist with setting-up examination venues by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with strict procedures 
  • Assist candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats  
  • Advise candidates about possessions permitted in examination venues 
  • Ensure that candidates do not talk once inside examination venues 
  • Invigilate during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures 
  • Check attendance during examinations 
  • Record details of late arrivals and collect scripts 

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to understand and adhere to Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation 
  • Demonstrate effective verbal/written communication skills 
  • Experience of working in a senior school or higher education environment (Desirable)
  • An understanding of examination processes (Desirable)
