Kolbe Catholic College is an independent co-educational secondary school for students aged 12-17 years. The school is located in the suburb of Greenvale Lakes, Victoria, in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. The current school population is around 1000 students and 120 teaching staff.

The college was established in 2008 and was named after St Maximilian Kolbe who died at the Auschwitz Concentration Camp in 1941, while offering his life as substitute for a fellow prisoner who had been condemned to death. The students’ motto of "Faith, Courage, Compassion" is guided by St Maximilian Kolbe’s heroism and self-sacrifice.

The college's facilities include art rooms, a dance studio, science labs, a library, multi-media classrooms, oval, gymnasium and basketball courts.

Curriculum

Kolbe Catholic College teaches using the Victorian curriculum which incorporates the Australian Curriculum and reflects Victorian priorities and standards. The College also delivers the curriculum for the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and Vocational Education and Training (VET). The curriculum has been designed to provide a wide range of elective subjects, specialist subjects, senior pathways, STEM Programs and Acceleration/Enrichment Programs.  The curriculum includes opportunities for local and international travel/immersion and spans across multiple domains to maximise each individual's opportunity to pursue their pathway of choice. The curriculum is complemented by the College Cocurricular Program that provides opportunities for students in the areas of STEM, Acceleration and Enrichment, Robotics, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Social Justice, Sport, Industry and Trade, Student Leadership and much more.  Programs such as the College Sporting Academy, the Ignite Program (Acceleration) and Onsite VET add further elements to the student learning experience.
